I think it's up to the person if they're willing to give up their addictions. I used to be a Ragna-addict. No kidding. That was the only thing I did the whole summer (before grade 5) besides eating and sleeping and waiting for my cousins to finish playing. I slept at 2 and woke up at 6. O_= It's very scary. At least I got tired of it.
I have a feeling I already told you all this... XD

I don't know what people ever liked about that game. There are so many things wrong about it that it's not even funny.
- It's luck-based.
- It's just a point-and-click-and-watch-everything-go game.
- It's not a game of skill. It's a game of "how long you can play the game until you get tired of it.".
- The players don't help much either. Filipinos are just assholes when they're on an online game.

I don't like addictive games that you need to pay for, like online games...its very unpractical...I'm not sure if you have to buy something before you can play...plus some people need to pay for internet/cards to play....it takes up time and you get nowhere after...iyou still have the electricity to pay for....it hurts you eyes...it'll ruin your posture...it kills brain cells....
Plus=you won't get artsy, thinner, healthier, or smarter by playing...forums make you think somehow...online games don't.
no offense...I just love my money more than the things I buy with it.

That's in other online games chuna that you have "to pay to play" (hey that's catchy)
And it helps your intelligence.. (I think)
Because my first grading in my 4th year I only focused on my studies. I got an average 89.90.
Then starting 2nd grading I played every week. (Many OL games) Then I got an average of 90.90
OMG! I increased my grades because of playing OL games!

I'm two minds about DoTa. Sometimes I get sick of it...sometimes I don't. What's wrong with me???!!!
I hate Rhasta because if he's my enemy, he's a pest. The chain link thingy. And he's slow! T_T
I don't like Agron because of his multi-cast. Period.
And if I'm playing Heroes 5 on teh battle.net it also lags! waaah! =((

wait, wait.. i admittedly was addicted to ragnarok too..
and i have a good reason why people still play this game even as we speak..
uhm, competition. like DoTa. every lil' move you make makes you a level higher than those who don't move.. a level higher gives you confidence to play againsts other monsters that you can't defeat.. higher-level-monster-booty-kicking gives you a level up, more nicer stats, and better items..
better items.. level 99.. nice stats.. boss-hunting.. gives you the power to dominate in PvP rooms.. (Player versus Player..) and once you see another player bow down to your power, you feel like you want to kill some more, that you want to level up some more, that you want more better and higher level items more.. AND THAT YOU WANT TO SPEND YOUR MONEY TIME AND MONEY TO A COMPUTER SHOP, just to level up.
like DoTa, in fact..

I don't hate dota...or any other online game...I'll never understand online games. But have fun playing.
I hate it when I get mad and all the negative feelings cause I'll be mad about feeling that and even angrier after....they cycle only stops after I sleep...So, bottom line=bad feelings=very very furious me.
And I hate being furious, or getting mad cause then I ramble on and on about my rantsd and start b!tching about evrything i see...then I start cursing...and breaking things and hating even more...after that I'll hate everything else more....and blah blah blah
This is why being happy for me, is frikin important...no one wants a mad people. XD

There is a world of difference between DotA and Ragnarok. DotA actually requires skill.
Ragnarok is all about how many monsters you Ctrl+Click'ed on. How many times you can F1-click. How much you've memorized about the game (the skills, the jobs, etc.).
That's not skill. Skill is proper timing, awareness, and hand-eye coordination.
If competition is to blame, well, have fun spending money on that inane game just because someone played longer than you did. And be proud that you have been playing Ragnarok for 3 years straight and developed a lot of... "skills".
