The DotA Thread!!

I'm sure we ALL know the Warcraft III : Frozen Throne map that almost every guy knows and almost every girl hates..

DotA is NOT a game.. It is a map/mission/scenario in a game called Warcraft III : Frozen Throne, the expansion of Warcraft III : Reign of Chaos..

DotA, or Defense of the Ancients, is a map wherein people can choose to be in either the Sentinel (good guys) side, or the Scourge (bad guys) side..

The reason why the map doesn't burn out? Version updates is what it's called.. Version 6.00 - 6.43.. Yes.. 44 versions, each coming every other week or every 3 - 5 weeks.. That's what makes this game totally addictive.. To try out the new version and how it makes the game play better..

Another thing that makes it so damn addictive.. The characters.. Around 70+ unique characters all in all for both sides.. These are composed of ranged and melee attackers, in either Strength, Agility, and/or Intelligence builds..

And.. Yea.. The items.. And the item recipes.. These are what make a character strong.. Depending on the build and the combination of the items you equip on your character, the items prove to be an extremely important part of the game..

All in all? The game is great just by telling from this review.. Or explanation, if you may..





Girls are starting to play and get to know and get addicted to this game already..

I have a friend in YM who doesn't chat anymore.. Girl sya.. And.. Well.. Her stat is always <busy sign> DND.. DotA Mode!!

So there.. I guess she's addicted to the game already..

DotA is like beer. You hate it until you try it again and again and again. Then it's actually fun.

One thing that's so wrong about this game is that the Sentinel and the Scourge aren't balanced. Sentinel owns the Scourge so bad that a team of equal skill level will always win as the Sentinel.

But then again, there is always -ap...

maybe the thing DoTa has that made it so popular is that they have about 82 "unique"
heroes for each player to choose..
every hero has his/her own ability and godlike powers to be useful in his or her own ways..

together with these 82 heroes comes with 6 item slots, and over millions of items to chose from!!

I play DoTa...>_< Heleina did too! But she's an addict of WOW...still Blizzard! Hahaha! XD

And it is totally addictive. Especially the GG client...playing with people you don't know...and whoop their ass good in the end...

I like playing as the bad guys...their heroes kick ass. Like Kelly. (Chain frost! wooh! Double kills and triple kills galore! >_>
