It was as if some invisible force pulled him right out of the cage, making him hit the opposite wall with such force that his head cracked. The chains that once bound my limbs tore off like it was paper.

“What’s this,” I thought to myself, “some kind of power?” I felt intense warmth flowing from my hands as if it was about to catch fire anytime soon.

I lifted my arm towards the man, slithering on the ground, blood flowing from his head. I merely thought of what I wanted to do to him, like I read in those sci-fi superhero novels, when suddenly, as if it was meant to be, he got lifted up into the air.

I threw my arm towards the other direction, hoping he’d be thrown in that direction, hitting the wall when alas, it did happen. He hit the wall with such force that a loud thud was heard echoing around the room. He finally dropped on his knees, drew his last breath, then dropping to the ground, dead.

“Oh shit,” I thought to myself.
“I’m supergirl.”

Never did I feel any guilt for what I did. He deserved it, anyway.

I found my way out of the room, finding myself in an old, abandoned warehouse. There were men with guns walking around. Tons of men. I don’t really know what happened with me, but I could hear Andy’s voice, talking. It was as if I could isolate the conversation.

“Wala nga akong alam!”
“Ha? Maniwala ako sayo! Nagnakaw ang tatay mo sa akin ng milyong milyong piso! Sa tingin nyo ba mabibili nyo ang bahay nyo’t mga mamahaling kotse nyo sa kinikita ng magulang mo?”
“Anung ibig nyong sabihin?” Andy sounded worried.
“Partner ko dati daddy mo. Ang nakita mong mga truck sa labas? Punung puno ng shabu.”
“Hindi! Hindi drug addict ang tatay ko!”
“Maniwala ka o inde, yun ang totoo.”

I was listening to the conversation as I somehow heard a guard lurk behind me.

“Hoy, anung ginagawa mo dito?”

As if I knew how my newfound power worked, I just thought of some brutal way to kill him, when voila, his face turned blue and he just dropped dead. Boring.

Okay, I dunno how to do it, but here goes.

It’s rescuing time.

But wait. I feel something strangely familiar, yet so gruesomely true. Shit. My period’s today.

I thought of the most impossible cause of death for the guards blocking my way. Then suddenly, all their heads simultaneously exploded into a barrage of flesh, blood, and helmet pieces. ‘Wow,’ I thought to myself.

Three minutes of lurking later, I found the room where Andy was confined in, the sound of cracking whips, screams of pain, and laughs of terror evident.

I was about to turn the knob when I felt something burning inside me. Shit shit shit shit no! Not now, please! And then, as if my muscles failed to contract, it flowed. Warm blood enveloped half my undies almost instantly as I tried and tried to hold it in, all to no avail.

I had to make a critical choice. Do I run to the nearest restroom or save my boyfriend? I love him but I love me too!

Hell, if anyone sees, they’d die anyway.

Here goes.

BOOM goes the door as I barged in, barely even touching the door.

And there he was. Andy in the corner, all bloodied up. 4 guards with long whips and cattle prods, around a dozen other guards, and a large man, probably the head honcho of ‘em all.

“YOU. I don’t know how you escaped my head assassin and my henchmen. GET HER!”

It was like a scene copy-pasted from a superhero movie. One by one they fell, each having a more brutal death than his predecessor.

All 16 guards, dead. All that’s left now is him.

“Who the hell are you?” he asks before pointing his pistol at me.
“Your worst nightmare” I replied as I was thinking of how to eliminate him.

Oh no, what’s going on? I’m thinking as hard as I could. And yet he’s still standing there, alive, kicking, and aiming his weapon at me. What happened to my power? I could feel the ground shake mildly as I concentrated, when suddenly…

BANG!

THUD!

I open my eyes and see my assailant on the ground, a bullet gone through-and-through his head.

“Sorry I killed him before you did,” it was Andy. He managed to grab a gun from one of the guards I killed earlier.

“What just happened?” he asked.
“I dunno, really.”
“Are you supergirl or something?”
“Haha you wish, dontcha?”
“C’mon, let’s go home.” I reach out my arm to help him up.
“Do you even know where we are in the first place?” he asked as he stood there.
“I guess so.”
“I wonder, can you fly…~”

FLASH!

Light. Bright light.

“Hey, get up, you’ve been drooling in your pillow enough to fill a glass. It was Andy.

What? Another dream? I knew it was too good to be true.

“My dad just called. He said he’ll pick me up this afternoon.”
“Cool.” No. It couldn’t be. It seemed too real.
“You don’t look okay. Did I wake you from a nightmare?”
“Naw, I’m okay. Wasn’t a nightmare.” Too real to be true.
“Okay, I’ll be in the kitchen cooking you some breakfast, okay?”
“Okay, love!” There must be some explanation.

I saw my cellphone move. To the left, then to the right, as if I was controlling it with my mind.

'Come to me', I whispered, then it just sprang to my hand, just like that. Wow.

It may be too real to be true. But this is too true to be a dream. Premonition or not? Coz whatever it is, I know, I’ll be ready.
