I'm proud, I'm narcissistic, I'm conceited (at times), I'm selfish (of course, everyone's a little bit selfish sometimes, I guess), and I'm egoistic.. I'M VAIN, AND I'M PROUD OF IT!! Hinding hindi ko ikahihiya yun..

By that statement, you say that you are just exaggerating your good points. You admit to having false pride. Meaning I don't know whether or not to believe in everything good you say about yourself.

But if you're proud of that, then by all means, I respect that.

Yes, I'm an egotistical person, but most of the time when I tell you guys how awesome I am, I'm just screwing around.

That's not vanity. Vanity is overly emphasizing your strength. Your stated level of thinking doesn't quite reach the level of "overly" emphasizing.

There were probably lots of time when you thought those things, but then you keep your mouth shut because you know that you could be wrong. That's practicing humility.

Was there ever a time when you think, "What a moron, I can do better," spout it out loud, and then go show off your mad skillz, only to find out he was better than you all along? That's when false pride happens, and it can be humiliating.

Yeah, it is humiliating. But I've seen people who stand their ground anyway. It's easy to lie. Besides, almost all of my guy classmates would boast about something they never could do in the first place- false pride.

But what does False pride cover anyway?

False pride IS being proud of how you look or what you can do. The reason why there's a "FALSE" before "PRIDE" is because you're spouting shit that isn't true. I don't understand how you can come to that conclusion.

Oh, and you know, most of the time when I say I am awesome, I don't really mean for you guys to take it seriously. I'm not practicing false pride in that scenario. I'm just screwing around.

and NARCISSUS died because of it. that incident was where
the word NARCISSISTIC came from.
so it's BAD.

BD only mentioned that the word vanity has been over used
in our millieu, and I think (I hope I'm right.) that we can do better
in providing a word for our camwhoring and self-appreciation. I believe this topic was about the WORD USAGE itself, and not the character of the people who use these words. To put it simply, BD "questioned the crime, not the one who committed the crime."
