"It's not you, it's me."
(Okay, when the midterm exams are over, I'll MAYBE come up with a more credible post, but as for now.. uh... )

But if you have to go offline soon, then just leave him a message.

Time is like a pepe.

Anyway, It's better if people just talk face-to-face. That's what my classmate did with her BF. o.o

It all depends on how the guy will take it. But anyhoo, yeah, break it off before the whole thing implodes, and then give the guy space to mull things over. And then talk to him. Don't force the friendship just yet, he might think that you didn't really mean the breakup.

Guys tend to take things seriously when it comes to break-ups.
You can always sugar-coat it.
Or you can come right out and say it, but slap on a bandage to quickly avert any mess. :> Breakups are never easy, and it all depends on the guy. If he's more of the sweet, kind, gentle type that you think is gay but is straight (...I have no idea where I pull this from) then I suggest you go sweet and paste on a bandage.
If he can take it straight, then say, "I think we aren't working out. We have this problem with...*insert problem here* and even though we've tried to work things out, I don't think that 'we' are right, right now. How about we break up for awhile and stay friends? Who knows what could happen..."
Well..that's what I would say. xD
