Okay, so my mom made me choose. Sorta. She refused to let me take fashion design for college. For now. She wants me to graduate in a different course first (so that I can be respected in my company). So, the only 2 courses I can choose from are Multimedia Arts and Advertising. Here's the thing though. College of St. Benilde (LaSalle's art school branch) is my dream school. I wanted SO bad to take Fashion Design there. Then there's this other school...iAcademy. It's really new. It has no reputation AT ALL. However, I like the teaching methods of the professors. Benilde: Multimedia ArtsPros: -everyone says I BELONG there -the facilities are AMAZING -the student body seems cool -great extra-curricular activities Cons: -I have no experience whatsoever in Multimedia Arts iAcademy: Advertising Pros: -free palm pilot upon enrollment -great professors -a walk away from my office -...looks easy -3 years only in school and 4th doing on the job training Cons: -NOBODY thinks I belong there (even my own Visual Arts teacher. He's very disappointed) -when I told my art teacher and Marvin, they made "the face" (kinda like a wince) -I observed the people there. They're quite unrefined. (sorry for the harshness) -the facilities suck ass ... What do you people think? I need help...

Well your mom only said that you had to take Advertising for now and you can choose Fashion Design later. My logic states that if you take Advertising, not only will you get to Fashion Design later anyways, you might also have the time to study Multimedia Arts, thus, removing the only problem you have with taking Fashion Design.
By the way, I don't have anything against St. Benilde, but some people who I'm not going to name told me that the College of St. Benilde is the place for rich and/or famous people who are rejects in La Salle.

Cons: -I have no experience whatsoever in Multimedia Arts <--- I guess that's why you're gonna go to school still, right. And it's not like that IS your main thing. ... well for now it is but heck.
And the whole rich/famous rejects well, they say UA&P's for rich rejects too but heck, they're education is good. It's like Ateneo too. (But they have this different style which I don't think would suit you so back to the point).
iAcademy ... well ... What is that? Sorry, but maybe it is a good school. But you have to make sure it is good. I mean, if St. Benilde's for rich rejects, eh ... ano yung iAcademy? I'll go research that or something.
Haha, puro negative. ANYWAY, you only have 1 con for St. Benilde so far. And well, yeah. I agree with BD.

LOL iAcademy's facilities suck so much more when I was there. Hahaha! Right now they're planning on expanding and buying the whole Ayala building from the Bank of Commerce. Effective June 2009, according to the dean. iAcademy's facilities have got absolutely nothing compared to CSB's, though. SDA building pa lang eh. And mas kilala na ang CSB at may pangalan na sya. Pero ayon sa mga "witness accounts", in CSB, you HAVE TO have advanced experience in Multimedia Arts prior to enrolling or else you'd literally die, kasi ang bilis daw ng turo ng mga profs, whilst sa iAcademy, tuturuan ka nila FOR FREE other than the classes provided sa curriculum. There's no such place to belong in, especially this early on. You could "belong" in both, but might not know or realize it. It's a risk. It's a choice. Pero ang napansin ko lang rin, mas mataas ang employment opportunities from iAcademy. Small school, little students, yet so many tie-ups. And yes, qualifications and licensures. XD It's your choice, AJ. Wag mo nang isipin ung libreng Palm Pilot. Hahahaha! But it's a great plus, isn't it? XD

For now it seems that Benilde IS a great place to study in. I mean, yeah. ._. And though sometimes it's better not to regard what other people say, they may be right. =_='
GAAH I don't want to think of College right now. It's but a school year away. D:

I dunno. What I'm implying to my mom is that, definitely, I WON'T succeed in MMA. I'm even pretty sure that I'm going to fail. I'm aware about Benilde's reputation. If you go to Benilde for buisiness, then, yeah. Those kids are probably the rejects. If you're an artist going to Benilde though, that's a different story. Benilde is like...THE best art school in the Philippines. I'm just worried about the fact that MMA is totally wrong for me.
But at the same...I think iAcademy is totally wrong for me as well. And...well, yeah. The school has no name at all. But what's in a name...?
I dunno. What I don't like most about iAcademy are the students there. They are so unrefined. I wish they had a little more class...and I wished they weren't so...geeky. Gosh, I sound so mean right now. But it's true...*A* It doesn't help that there's not one single guy that can be considered as eye-candy in that place. It's a really sad school.
I honestly don't care about the career opportunities 'cause I own a company. I know I should care, but yeah.

Well then you're doomed to fail no matter what school you enter, AJ. Good luck with college. *evil laugh*

Sorry, I was kidding. I still say that for practical reasons, you should go to iAcademy for the company respect, since you can always take Design later. The image of the school doesn't matter because you're an heiress, and school image is only good for getting jobs.

Okay. Just to clarify...if I go to Benilde, I won't be taking Fashion Design. I will be taking Multimedia Arts (which is like advertising).

Okay, if you want my two cents in the issue, I suppose.. *letmegetthisoutbefore anythingelse* WHY CSB AND iACADEMY? Why are you limiting yourself to these schools only? *okay, done* In my honest opinion, I really think you should go to CSB. As for the no experience in Multimedia Arts, you still have a few months to go to start brushing up on Photoshop or whatever shiz that you need basics. Or get summer classes about those. Don't be limited by the fact that you don't know anything YET, because I believe that EVERYTHING CAN BE LEARNED. *FINE, ARGUE WITH ME SOME OTHER TIME ABOUT THE LOVE ANGLE, but ANYWAYYYY* Not to put down iAcademy, but you need something that has already been established if you really want some respect. YES, they say CSB is for rejects but it's all just a state of mind I suppose. Believe it and you're just as good as the detractors. But anyway, you've said it yourself, iAcademy's facilities are NOTHING compared to CSB's, and that part helps in establishing respect, since you'll be working on the latest facilities and whatshiz. Okay, my whole advice is incoherent at best, but I hope that helps. P.S. I think UP is the best art school in the Philippines. The students there are GODS of art. Just saying.

UP is only the best when it comes to Fine Arts. Only Fine Arts.
Purp: I wanted to take Fashion Design. It's not about what I want right now. It's about what my mom and the company wants. My ONLY choices are MMA and Advertising.
park: I am not limiting myself to only these schools. All I've ever wanted since I've been a high school fresh man was to go to CSB. I didn't think I would have to change my plans for my company.
I'm taking my CSB test next week...I hope I pass. Some people may laugh when I say that...they think I'm too paranoid about tests.=_=' I shouldn't worry about the CSB test daw...=_=' I really hope I pass. I think I'm heading towards the CSB direction...
