Bands to watch out for

Heya! Do you guys know any independent bands? I do! A lot of them are actually great! They're unsigned, but I think we should take time to notice these hidden talents.

GAME!

I'll start with "The Good Morning High Fives".

The Genre: Rock

These Benildian Music Production sophomores are beginning to really kick off their career. They're starting to get gigs all over Manila! Why wouldn't they? They write really good songs and they sound awesome...and the band name it self is inviting.

Why you should notice them: Boys, they have a super cute and talented lead singer, Jun. You'll prolly fall in love with her when she stares into your eyes as she sings (she tends to do that). They also have this incredible guitarist, Marco. This boy is amazing. He is probably the best rookie guitarist in the Philippines. You'll really be amazed with what he can do with his fingers. People, I shit you not. Their songs are very well written. It'll only be a matter of time before they get signed!

"Atreyu".

Yup. It's a name from the ever sucky movie, "A neverending story". Despite the stupid name though, this band is starting to gain popularity and...rocks. o.o Woot.

The first time I heard their name though, I LOL'd. A lot. XD (People who have seen the said movie will understand. FALCOR IS A PEDOPHILE/LUCK DRAGON/HAIRLESS DOG/WORM/THINGIE. D: )

Why you should notice them: I think they try to follow Linkin Park's ideals of a rock-hard screamo type. I don't know. XD But their songs aren't amateur-written either. I SHOULD DIE. XD

Another band you should watch out for is Angulo.

They're a local band. Their songs are quite well written. I LOVE their instrumentals. They're great when they work with instruments...especially the guitar. They create wonderful effects.

They currently have a self-produced album (my friend bought me the CD). They've been trying to to get their video played on MTV...phail. Chin up, though. You guys are great.

I love this band tooo. The first music that i've heard from them is F.L.S., the song was really ROCK ON! and it is the one of the coolessst OPM song i've ever heard.

Unfortunately they are not that "Sikat".

Well, there's also Los Indios Bravos. The vocalist is Jonan Aguilar, the most talented son of Pinoy Rock Legend Freddie Aguilar, singer of the hit song Anak. Los Indios Bravos will launch their debut album in a couple of months.

Another one is a solo artist known only by the name Datu. He's extremely well known in the Philippine Underground and has been performing regularly in Puerto Galera and Boracay during the summer.

Both Los Indios Bravos and Datu are already famous among the Philippine Underground music scene and have yet to go mainstream. XD
