I'm bored. I needed something to exercise my mind on. Besides, I wanted to see how faithful to God you people are.
- There are tons of religions, yet each claims that it is "the one true way of salvation"
- People are obliged to attend masses because God is a whiny asshole who has issues about people not paying attention to him. He wants you to travel to a church and spend time listening to words which you've already heard, and will be hearing for the rest of your life.
- It threatens us with ETERNAL SUFFERING!!!11! if we don't do what is right, yet it still wants us to do good "from our heart". This means that people who aren't "good from the heart" are doomed even if they tried doing good.
- Free will and God's "omnipotence" is contradictory. If God knew that we would become sinners in the future, why create us in the first place so we won't have to suffer in hell?
- God wants us to blindly believe in Him. Faith is belief without reason. Belief without reason is completely stupid. Granted, we all need to take small leaps of faith sometimes on some things, but to base your entire life around a system of belief without reason is moronic.
- Some people use it to justify killing. As said in a movie once: "Killing is bad. And wrong. There should be a new stronger word for killing like, badwrong... or... bdong. Yes, killing is bdong."

I'm a Catholic.. But I don't believe in Satan nor Hell.. Hahaha!! The Catholic Church and people are SO DAMN INSECURE about other religions that they tend to brush them off all the time.. And that if they find out that one of them is converting to another religion, Catholics would literally PUSH CATHOLICISM BACK DOWN YOUR THROAT until you believe in Catholicism again.. About the one true salvation religion thingy.. It's not true.. Religion doesn't matter, really.. IT NEVER MATTERED.. It's your faith that really matters most.. Not your religion.. Not your practices and concrete beliefs.. Your faith is what counts and matters most.. If you noticed.. The Christian God is a SELFISH GOD.. I guess you've heard it one too many times before.. But yes, the Christian/Catholic God is 2000% selfish.. First commandment pa lang eh.. You are not, I repeat, ARE NOT obligated to go to mass every sunday just because you are Christian / Catholic.. The Holy Mass is just a symbol of thanking your Lord for the week he has given you.. If you think there's nothing to thank him for, or if you think you can just thank him by saying a little prayer at home, that's fine too.. Edi wag ka magsimba.. IT IS NOT A SIN not to go to church on Sundays.. About Hell and sins.. Hell is for those who believe in it.. Heaven is for those who believe in it either.. Omnipotence is non-existent as God CANNOT control EVERYTHING that's happening in our world.. Remember.. You are only threatened by eternal suffering if you believe in it.. Duh.. Actually.. There is ONLY ONE religion in the world.. But people are doing it in different ways.. I mean.. I can call God Lord, or Allah, or Buddha, or Diana, or what-have-you.. The names I just mentioned symbolizes one thing and one thing alone.. And it's the ONE TRUE SUPREME being over us all.. Wahahahaha!! Gets?  Don't get me wrong ah.. I'm what you call an Open Catholic.. Someone with a Catholic-based religion and set of beliefs but I also incorporate beliefs of other religions into my own.. Well.. Err.. I'm more into Catholic-Wicca practices.. LOL.. @crescent Moon : The snake goes to show that God isn't REALLY in control of EVERYTHING that happens, like what I said above.. ^__- |

I've been taught of believing in His mighty Name, to respect and adore Him, and to follow His example. I've never thought of actually abandoning all this. I mean, I grew up in His name, haven't I? I followed His rules, hoping that if there was a heaven, I'd be going there. And I suppose you guys have thought that too when you were younger. "If I am a good little girl I'd go straight to heaven," I would say happily, waving my arms up at the air. "And then I'd be with Grandma! Wouldn't that be great? We could all go to Grandma!" Maybe it was the naivity in my age or whatever, but everybody had smiled at this and murmured theri agreement. That was the plan, wasn't it? And if you're bad you'd go straight to hell and burn for the rest of eternity. It's that simple. There are two ways to live your life, and beyond those paths are two destinations. So it's either you'd be a fucked up moron sacrificing your life for someone you could not see, or be a badass jerk and get whatever you want during your short span of existence. Let me tell you this though. There's a big chance that there is no God after all, but it's better to feel a fuzziness in your heart when you do something right than the stinging guiltiness after a bad deed, right? God isn't selfish at all. It's just that, like all people, he wants something in return, even if it's just a simple 'thank you' or praise. Anyone would enjoy that. It's because of Him we're alive. It's because of Him that there are numerous blessings we receive everyday. The bad circumstances that occur in our lives have purposes too: maybe just karma or to make us better people. It's not His fault really; what we do is our own decisions. Purplicious: Yes! I get it! There's only one God! XD |

I'm not accusing you of anything, but this reminded me of a common mistake that the average religious man makes. Thinking that if there is no God, the world gets into chaos.
It isn't true. We have laws that prevent such events from happening. We have bonds shared between friends and lovers. We have the bond shared between mother and child. These things have very little to do with God. Even if there is no God, we still have each other.
Besides, the only thing we do that has God in mind is prayer and mass. Everything else is based on our own beliefs.
Actually, it goes like, "He wants something in return or else you'll be damned in hell forever"

I dont understand why God's name is God since there are too many other names but what the hell....
I dont really believe in Hell, and Heaven? Im not sure...I just wanna die peacefully cause Ill regret it if I didn't believe in Heaven.
... Yes, I have faith in my religion...so this'll probably be the only post here. Im too respectful XD

Actually, I HAVE thought about it.. For the past 3 years, I have.. LOL.. =)) Ehh un.. For the past 3 years, I've developed my own beliefs, merging ones from my religion and those from other religions that make perfect sense to me.. Kasi.. If all people would do that.. We would much better understand why it's like this and why it's like that..  Ahahahaha!! I mean.. I could call Him Yahweh.. Or King, or Lord.. Or even bespren!! =)) Bottom line? He's the one and only supreme being.. XD |

LoL. I'm not allowed to not believe in God. I used to not. I used to be an atheist. I believe everything has a logical explanation. Science. I dunno. I'm still confused about what I should believe. Somehow, I think that religion constricts me. I want to live my life without thinking, "OMG. I'm so gonna be punished" or whatever. But then...I dunno...I just keep getting odd signs...meeting new people...who trying to get me to go to church O.O And billboards...about God O.O I mean, who puts those up anyway?? Eeh. I dunno. I just hate being constricted by these religious rules. |

I think most people liked to have faith because of only one thing:
"They want to believe in heaven"
because if your an atheist then you believe that when you die you just lie in one place for all eternity. that is a scary thought isn't it? But if they believe in God, they will get something to believe in and will hope that it is true. They want to believe that there is a happier life after death rather than die and lie down for eternity or burn in hell. hehe

But then then it's not really scary...if you die...then that's it. Your life's over. I mean, no thinking or whatevs...
The thought of having hell or purgatory to go to after dying scares me. I'd rather have my life be done instead of going to hell for my afterlife.

Actually. oenr eason i believe in God is cause when I ask for signs, he gives them. Im sure you think signs are...weird, unbelieveable things made up/coincidental... But My question *which I thought was almost impossible to answer* Has just been answered. XD
But whatever, we have the choise to believe in things or not..I just misspelled choice damnit.

If you feel constricted about your religion, then that means that you're not comfortable with it.. And if you're not comfortable with it, then how does your spirituality grow better? After all, the main goal of religion is to make your spirituality grow and make you a better person, right? So what good is it if you say that you're not comfortable with your religion? ANU ANG POINT DUN? That's what we fail to see.. Try searching your inner self for what you really want.. And if you find out what you really want, GO FOR IT.. |
